Vision

God’s kingdom advances, but compared with the number of people who have not yet heard the good news, the workers are few. The mission of Senderis is to equip workers to disciple the nations. This is our vision precisely because it was the mission of Jesus.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matt 28:18-19)

Jesus said that the kingdom of God is like a mustard seed that grows into the largest tree in the garden and that all the birds of the field come and make their nest in its branches. This is how the story of the good news has progressed. In the grand scheme of world history, what is the death of a poor man born in a small town of a minor Roman province 2,000 years ago? Humanly speaking, it is nothing.

But in spite of this, the kingdom that Jesus announced has grown from that small seed into a great tree that gives its shade to the nations. It is a kingdom of salvation, justice and reconciliation. It is Emanuel, the presence of God with us. God has charged us with the task of working for this kingdom, expanding it and extending it as his partners.

Goals

Senderis is ministry dedicated to providing resources and training for the growing church in Latin America. The need is great because in this region the church is growing at a rapid pace, but teaching, discipleship and materials for leaders are scarce. In keeping with the latest mission strategies, Senderis seeks to provide strategic support for the leaders of this new force, not only to strengthen evangelism and church growth in Latin America, but also to bless other regions of the world in light of the very active movement of missionaries from Latin America to other parts of the globe.

Our Goals are:

  • To train leaders in the areas of the globe where the church is growing and where the educational needs are the greatest. There is a special emphasis on Latin America.
  • To participate in projects that promote the concept of doing missions from the “global south.”
  • To help the church in North America understand the current global situation so that they might be able to better participate with other sending nations.
  • To promote communication between the church in the United States and the church in the global south.
